A review of the literature indicates significant progress in the development of new surgical methods for the treatment of benign obstructions of the distal bile ducts leading to mechanical jaundice. Techniques such as endoscopic ultrasound drainage of the bile ducts, magnetic compression anastomosis and robotic surgery show promising results in certain clinical scenarios, especially when traditional approaches are complex or ineffective. The scientific rationale for these methods is based on their ability to provide less invasive treatments, increased precision, and solutions to technical problems associated with traditional surgery. It is important to carefully assess the effectiveness and safety of each method, determine the optimal criteria for selecting patients and compare them with traditional approaches. Further developments in technologies such as improved stents, magnet delivery systems, and artificial intelligence.
