The literature review is devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of acute appendicitis. The recommendations of the World Society of Emergency Surgery (WSES) on the tactics of treating patients with acute appendicitis, which organized the first consensus conference on the diagnosis and treatment of acute appendicitis in adult patients in Jerusalem, were provided. Possibilities of conservative and operative treatment of acute appendicitis are shown.
