Current World Health Organization guidelines and international, American, European and Chinese guidelines recommend the use of topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs as first-line treatment for musculoskeletal pain due to their comparable efficacy to oral non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and better safety than the latter. The topical patch Menovazan PRO, which contains menthol, meloxicam, procaine and benzocaine, has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and cooling effects. Menovazan PRO is recommended for the mild/moderate musculoskeletal pain of traumatic, inflammatory and dystrophic genesis; it can be used in patients with comorbid gastrointestinal and cardiovascular pathology.
