Bruxism is one of the most common myogenic disorders in the dental and jaw apparatus, which affects 6–20% of the world’s population, but 3–5% of the total number of patients have pronounced symptoms of this disease. The purpose of the study was to determine the effectiveness of the use of botulinum toxin type A in the treatment of bruxism as a primary aid in muscle relaxation. The presence of positive clinical effects from the use of botulinum therapy in the treatment of bruxism has been proven, namely: reduction of pain level according to the Visual Analogue Scale, normalization of muscle activity according to data of surface electromyography of temporal and masticatory muscles.
