The purpose of the study is to investigate the prevalence of risk factors in patients with urological pathology. The object of the study is the risk factors implemented in patients who sought medical help from an urologist in an outpatient setting. The subject of the study is the frequency of smoking, alcohol consumption, overweight, consumption of fruits and vegetables, and physical activity among the studied contingent; the frequency of recommendations by doctors and medical professionals regarding risk factors for urological pathology in patients. Research methods: sociological, medical and statistical; analytical. Materials: questionnaires filled out by 122 patients of a urologist. The STEPS questionnaire was used. Results. It was established that 75.2% of patients consumed alcohol during the last month; 53.3% patients do not eat fruit every day, and 39.3% — vegetables; only 14.8% respondents consume the recommended daily amount of fruits, and 15.6% — the recommended amount of vegetables; 42.6% respondents use salty products constantly or often, and 27.9% people — processed products; 48.3% people are overweight, 23.8% are obese; 64.8% patients usually spend the day sitting or lying for 3–4 or more hours. During the visit, 30.3% respondents did not receive advice from a doctor or other medical professional regarding changes in eating behavior and/or physical activity. Conclusion. Risk factors for chronic non-infectious diseases are widespread among urologist patients. It is recommended to strengthen the impact on risk factors through preventive information technologies and patient-oriented education in the conditions of primary and specialized medical care.
