From Stress to Cephalalgia (Headache): Psychosomatic Mechanisms, Neurobiology and Strategy of Physiological Correction

The article reviews psychosomatic and neurobiological mechanisms of stress-induced cephalalgia formation, in particular the role of chronic stress, anxiety, sleep disorders, central sensitization and neurotransmitter imbalance. The feasibility of complex physiological correction aimed at reducing neuronal hyperexcitability, improving emotional state and normalizing sleep is substantiated. The results of an open prospective study of the effectiveness of the drug Lagison in 56 patients with psychosomatic forms of headache are presented. The main group received Lagison as part of complex therapy for one month, the control group received placebo. The assessment was carried out using the VRS, GAD-7, HADS, PSQI and CQLS scales. It was found that the use of Lagison was associated with a decrease in headache intensity, anxiety level, improved sleep quality and quality of life compared to the control group. The obtained data indicate the prospects of using the drug in the complex correction of psychosomatic cephalalgia and require further confirmation in randomized controlled trials.
