Periprosthetic infection is one of the most serious complications after total knee arthroplasty, requiring a two-stage revision arthroplasty. These complex surgeries require a long recovery and rehabilitation period, during which patients face a number of problems, such as pain, limited joint mobility, muscle wasting, and impaired gait. Effective rehabilitation plays an important role in the successful recovery of the patient after two-stage knee arthroplasty caused by periprosthetic infection. This article considers the relevance of an individualized approach to the rehabilitation of patients after the second stage of two-stage arthroplasty for periprosthetic infection.
