A clinical case of West Nile fever in a resident of Odessa region

West Nile fever is one of the diseases covered by international health regulations. The causative agent is characterized by high variability and diversity of the genome. The reservoir and source of infection are various species of birds, including migratory ones. This is what causes outbreaks of this disease. There are no significant differences in the clinical picture, it is characterized by the polymorphism of the symptoms. Currently, effective means of etiotropic treatment and specific prevention have not been developed. The described case emphasizes the relevance of studying the disease for Ukraine and the need for differential diagnosis in case of development of meningoencephalitis of unknown etiology.
