Captopres-Darnitsa: valid time-tested arterial hypertension control

Captopril was synthesized more than 40 years ago and became a progenitor of a large group of drugs that affect the function of the renin-angiotensin system of the body. It made a revolution in treatment of arterial hypertension and it is successfully used in clinical practice until now. It is still the drug of choice in treatment of arterial hypertension in patients with left ventricular dysfunction, nephropathy of various origins. Rapid antihypertensive effect and low cumulative ability allow to use the drug successfully in patients with arterial hypertension, including urgent practice for relief of hypertensive crisis. The article is devoted to the peculiarities of pharmacodynamics of the drug, its clinical application and combination with other drugs for treatment of arterial hypertension.
