AIMS AND SCOPE
«Ukrainian Medical Journal» was established in 1997 by National medical academy of postgraduate education named after P.L. Shupik (now — Shupyk National Healthcare University (NHU) of Ukraine) and publishing company LLC «MORION». «Ukrainian Medical Journal» is a scientific peer-reviewed medical journal that publishes research articles, reviews, case reports, materials of scientific and practical conferences, congresses, interviews with reputable experts, articles on healthcare organization issues, lectures by leading domestic specialists in the framework of postgraduate medical education and other materials interested to a wide medical audience. The results of experimental works are not published.
«Ukrainian Medical Journal» covers the broad field of medical disciplines, including therapy, general practice, cardiology, neurology, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics and others.
PLAGIARISM POLICY
Manuscripts with plagiarized content are not considered for publication. It includes direct copying the text, images or data from other articles without identifying the source and authorship, copying translated from another language text or data without pointing the source, using an idea from another source without proper attribution etc.
The screening for plagiarism is carried by Executive Editor by specialized programs and methods for detecting plagiarism. Also, if plagiarism is suspected during the peer-review process, the reviewer informs the Executive Editor about it.
If plagiarism is suspected, we are guided by the algorithm recommended by COPE.
PEER-REVIEW PROCESS
All submitted manuscripts undergo mandatory peer-review and approvement by the Scientific council of the Shupyk NHU of Ukraine. Peer-review are carried out by internal and external independent experts in the same field. The decision to accept the article for publication is based on an assessment of the relevance of the presented information, its scientific novelty, theoretical and practical significance, the design of the article, the quality of the content, compliance with design requirements, ethical requirements, and the absence of conflict of interest.
Reviewers are guided by COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers.
Peer-reviewed articles are treated confidentially.
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript regardless of the race, gender, nationality, religion, or personal political convictions.
Reviewers do not communicate with the author personally.
Reviews are not published online and are not sent to the authors.
If there are comments and the need for revision, the authors are invited by the Executive Editor to make appropriate changes, if the manuscript is rejected, the reasons for such decision are reported.
The peer-review process takes up to 2 business weeks.
